Calrec’s Brio36 mixer wins Thai vote

THAILAND:

Having taken the decision to upgrade its entire studio and outside broadcasting infrastructure, Thai Parliament TV (TPTV) has taken delivery of Calrec Brio36 consoles for its digital audio mixing requirements. The Thai television channel broadcasts sessions from the National Assembly of Thailand including the House of Representatives and Senate to the Thai network. Launched in 2006, TPTV also transmits educational and edutainment programmes in addition to parliamentary coverage.

Working closely with Advance Digital Tech Group (ADT), Calrec’s Southeast Asian regional representative JAA Systems supplied the Brio36 solution to the Bangkok-based broadcaster. The two Brio36 work surfaces were primarily specified for its future-ready IP connectivity, ease of use, expandability and premium audio quality. In addition to a standard flight cased Brio36 for the OB system, the live broadcast studio model has been customised with 36 faders dual layers, 96 DSP channels, an SDI de-embedder and a Br.IO stagebox.

“With this investment, TPTV has become the first Brio36 mixer customer in Thailand,” commented ADT MD Supat Sirithamrat. “With the console’s many features, the TPTV engineers are quickly discovering the many inherent benefits included within the design.”

The compact Brio36 is said to have established Calrec as a leading brand amongst broadcasters in Southeast Asia, as JAA Systems MD David Chan explained: “The investment made by TPTV marks the first sale for Calrec’s Brio36 in Thailand. An increasing number of broadcasters in this region have become aware of its power and versatility.”
