JAA Systems recently completed a high-tech broadcast facility for SPOTV Media Malaysia in Cyberjaya. Completed within just three months, the project involved the construction of eight fully equipped Pres Suite studios and a Master Control Room to enhance SPOTV’s production and delivery of live sports content, a key pillar of its programming across Southeast Asia.
SPOTV Media is a leading sports entertainment network in Asia, known for broadcasting a wide range of sports like football, tennis, motorsports and mixed martial arts. They cover major events like Wimbledon and MotoGP, offering high-quality content with localised commentary for different countries. SPOTV Media also connects with fans through digital platforms, livestreaming and social media, making it a top choice for sports enthusiasts in the region.
In close collaboration with SPOTV Media Malaysia, JAA Systems designed and integrated a comprehensive broadcast system featuring an Imagine Communications ingest, playout, MAM and glue system, plus SNS and GB Labs for shared NLE and nearline storages. The setup also incorporates the latest BLT Italia as multichannel baseband to file acquisition appliance for continuous off-air recording and Calrec audio systems which have been integrated as an AoIP audio mixing, shuffling, embedding and de-embedding platform. Lastly, a LaON Technology intercom solution has been implemented for communication between productions teams and control room staff.
A range of other systems were also installed, including Wohler monitoring equipment, Leader Electronics’ SPGs and changeover systems, Sonifex and Artel systems as PTP IP ecosystem components, Apantac solutions for multiviewers and a Merging Technologies live sports commentary system.
The comprehensive integration aims to provide SPOTV with the tools necessary to manage a wide range of content formats, from live events to recorded programming, all with efficiency and reliability.
With a tight project turnaround, JAA Systems worked alongside partners on the content contribution and distribution to assure the media production content was managed and met within the stringent deadlines, ensuring that all systems were integrated and operational without compromising on quality or performance.
