OnAir Entertainment has recently opened its doors in Kuala Lumpur. It is a music and dance academy with two large dancefloors, 11 music and vocal training rooms and complete recording studio with a large seminar hall. JAA Systems was contracted to provide design and install the sound system for its recording studio.

‘We were awarded the project, to provide a solution for this new international standard recording studio, at the end of 2018 and completed it, handing over, in July 2019,’ explained David Chan, director at JAA Systems. ‘We were given the project due to offering the best combination of a good, quality audio system at a reasonable price. As the client preferred Pro Tools as a DAW editing software, we matched it with Merging’s Hapi audio interface, which was a good combination, providing a great-sounding audio interface within a multitrack system.’

JAA Systems installed Pro Tools 2019 on a 27-inch iMac, integrating it with the Hapi interface. An Avid Artist Mix controller, Yamaha HS8 monitors, a TASCAM SS-CDR recorder and CD-500 player were also installed along with microphones and headphones from Shure. A customised console table was also supplied, designed to OnAir Entertainment’s specific needs.
